  5. Filing cabinets containing restricted or sensitive information must be closed and locked when not in use or when not attended.
  6. Keys used to access restricted or sensitive information must not be kept at an unattended desk.
  7. Laptops must be either locked with a locking cable or locked away in a drawer.
  8. Passwords must not be left on sticky notes posted on or under a computer, and must not be in written form in an accessible location.

Implementing a clean desk policy requires more than just talking about it. It is a systematic process of convincing employees to make it happen. All organisations need to have a proper process to monitor their clear desk policy after it has been implemented.
